Job Description


The HR Manager serves as a strategic business partner aligning business objectives with employees and management as well as designs and directs employee relations activities to ensure client expectations are met. This position will also act as a change agent information source in all aspects of Human Resources including HR policies, programs and corrective action to ensure an atmosphere that fosters continuous growth and promotes positive company culture.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Leads the planning, development, implementation and administration of all human resource programs for assigned business line(s).
  2. Serves as a strategic business advisor to operations management regarding key organizational and management issues.
  3. Formulates partnerships with internal customers to deliver value added serves that reflect business objectives and optimize employee job satisfaction and retention.
  4. Develop, monitor and report on human resource activities, metrics and analysis that will show trends, evaluate cost efficiencies and determine turn around time in meeting recruitment needs.
  5. Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
  6. Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; overseeing and conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
  7. Escalates all matters that present risk to the Company.
  8. Establish and promote company brand in the surrounding communities and establish local partnerships.
  9. Work with Operations to develop competitive incentive plans to increase revenue and drive job satisfaction.
  10. Ensure all Human Resource processes are meeting the needs of internal and external customers, in compliance with all state and federal guidelines, and strategically focused.
  11. Develop HR staff to resolve employee issues minimizing company liability and exposure by building effective relationships with exempt and nonexempt employees.
  12. Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  13. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  14. Lead special assignments and other projects, which meet the strategic needs of the business.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business Management or equivalent experience
  • 4 - 6 years' experience in the field of human resources gained in a service oriented environment with a minimum of 4 years in managerial roles
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Prior experience working with Affirmative Action Plans preferred
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of the organization and community
  • Highly motivated, focused and self-directed individual
  • Demonstrated strong project and management skills
  • Demonstrated strong conflict resolution skills
  • Strong PC skills with heavy emphasis on Excel
  • Incentive compensation administration required and incentive design preferred
